Weekly Photo Challenge: Lost in the details

Guess the season. I’ve been waiting to use this photograph for something. I like the simplicity of it. It’s like reading the first paragraph of The Things They Carried and knowing intimately who the central characters are.

It’s funny: details run in the family. My mother focuses on them in her drawing and my uncle focuses on them in his photography. I’d rather have an obsession with details than the funeral home in East St. Louis my ancestors (fortunately) sold before I had to inherit it.
